Services
Our Services include CNC Machining, EDM, Prototype to production. Conventional machining and assembly services.
Today's machine shops are not complete without EDM capabilities.
Our EZ- Spark sinker EDM and Brother Wire EDM are very simple to use, but have the capabilities of machines costing five times the cost. Our newest addition is a Charmilles 240 SL with 0.00002" resolution glass scales on all axes and taper capability. For molds, wave guides intricate features, or just blanking out parts, EDMing can be the most cost efficient process.
Although today is the era of the CNC, not every job can be performed on a CNC machine. There are applications when a conventional machine is the most efficient method. We are equipped with 4 vertical mills, 2 lathes, a variety of grinders and saws, as well other support equipment. With manufacturers such as Bridgeport (pictured), Mori Seiki, Boyar Shultz, Tree, Logan, and others we can apply the right equipment to the right job.
Here at Modern Methods we pride ourselves in our CNC milling and turning capabilities. Our equipment is state-of-the-art and is maintained on schedule to insure smooth and accurate operation. Our journeyman machinist are skilled to the highest level and can hold tolerances to .0001 or better in materials from plastic to titanium. Our CNC equipment include brands like Mori Seiki, Brother, Cincinnati, Kitamura.
SmartCam software has been our primary CAM software for over 20 years. We have looked at others and found Esprit and Smartcam offers the most in customizable post processer which seperates us from most CAM users. In December 2013, Esprit CAM software is now part of our CAM operation. We can import files using translators like IGES, STEP, SET, DXF, and VDA

After many years of working primarily on piece parts, we have evolved and now include assemble of our, or customer furnished, piece parts to an upper assembly level.
Some advantages of having us do the assemble work are:
- Finding design flaws prior to assembly.
- Reduce cost by controlling part interface features to reduce assembly time.
- Controlled assembly cost with a firm fixed assemble price.
